ELIGIBILITY STANDARDS
To represent a school in any interscholastic competition, a student must meet all eligibility requirements of the Missouri State High School Activities Association. Listed are the State Eligibility Rules and Regulations.
STATE ELIGIBILITY RULES
PARENTAL PERMISSION
Prior to each year of interscholastic athletic participation, a student shall furnish a statement, signed by the student's parent(s) or legal guardian (see also By-Law 3.10.1.a), which grants permission for the student to participate in interscholastic athletics.
PHYSICAL EXAMS AND INSURANCE
Physical: The school shall require of each student participating in athletics a certificate of an issued physical signed and authorized by a physician, advanced nurse practitioner in written collaborative practice with a physician, or a certified physician's assistant in collaboration with a sponsoring physician stating that the individual is physically able to participate in athletic practices and contests of his/her school. A student shall not be permitted to practice or compete for a school until a complete, signed certificate is on file at the school. The medical certificate is valid for the purpose of this rule if issued on or after February 1 of the previous school year.
Insurance: A student shall not be permitted to practice or compete for a school until it has verification that he or she has
basic athletic insurance coverage.

STATE ELIGIBILITY RULES
- You must be a good high school citizen.
- You must attend North Technical High School as a full day student to be eligible to participate in athletics.
- You must be enrolled in courses that offer 3.0 units of credit each semester, and must have earned 3.0 units of credit or 80% of the maximum allowable, whichever is greater, the preceding semester. This is a rule change starting in the 2009/2010 school year.
- You cannot compete in any sport for more than four seasons.
- You must enter school within the first eleven days of the semester to be eligible to play that semester.
- You must not accept an award for competing for any out- of- school organization other than a letter, medal, or trophy.
- You cannot reach your 19th birthday prior to July 1 preceding the opening of school.
- You cannot play under an assumed or false name.
- After representing a school in basketball or football, an athlete cannot compete in non-school competition in that sport at any time.
- Do not commit an act of un-sportsmanlike conduct while playing or attending a high school activity.
- You must be in full attendance the day of practice or a game. The only exception to this policy is a written excuse from a doctor or dentist because of an appointment.
