Designs Hit the Runway of the 2010 Fashion Show

Fashion Show 2010.png
When we discuss fashion, we speak of names like Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, Kenneth Cole, LizClaiborne, or Tommy Hilfiger.  But in the month of April, the heavily anticipated 2010 North Technical Senior Fashion Show starring fresh youthful names and styles like ZebraGaga, Purple Rain, and Painted Concoctions was the talk of the town.  These new creative signatures and influential trends took center stage as the Fashion Design program seniors put on North Technical’s first ever fashion show.  With all seats along the runway taken and a standing room only crowd starting to gather, anticipation for this first time event was definitely high. The show was dominated by two major fashion trends. The Underground Couture designers introduced a series of elegant designs meant for those uniquely special occasions.  The Fashion Misfits designers launched a series of innovate and creatively expressive fashions for communicating ones mood and individuality. Aubriea Townsley opened the event as the main master of ceremonies, while Briante Wells coordinated the execution and timing of the show. Although some of the designers also doubled as runway models, many of the models were selected months in advance so as to be properly fitted for this event. In the end, the first Senior Fashion Show was a smashing success as 17 student designers created almost fifty outfits that were showcased on this exciting occasion.
The Fashion Design program, headed by Ms. Andee Champion, is only in its second year here at North Technical High school, but these seniors have no doubt set the bar high for other fashion designers who will follow.  With television programs like Project Runway and America’s Top Model, interest in clothing, fashion designs and trends will not be going away any time soon, thus the new program will no doubt grow in popularity among prospective students in the years to come.  Congratulations to the Ms. Champion, the student designers, and models on a successful 2010 fashion show program. Click the video link above to see a short summary of the many designs on display during the night of the show.
